Coloured Dunes of Chamarel
The unique seven-coloured earth dunes of Chamarel, a 15 minute drive from Tamarin, are well worth a visit. They are among the oldest and most spectacular landmarks of the island.
The multi-coloured earth, with shades of red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow, is believed to be the result of the weathering of volcanic rocks.
